The Lotus Katana Lmtd Edition by Citadel is a rare, hand-made Japanese sword from a limited run of only 100 pieces. Produced in Citadel’s small workshop in Phnom Penh, each katana is crafted individually from start to finish, giving every example its own subtle character. Each sword is signed by the smith on the nakago with its individual number and is supplied with a matching certificate, making it a highly desirable piece for collectors and serious practitioners alike. Built with a practice-focused specification, this katana uses a solid blade with no bo-hi, giving it a slightly higher weight and a more forward point of balance. Citadel’s blade geometry tapers sharply from the shinogi to the mune, allowing for a thicker, well-supported edge with traditional niku while preserving responsive handling. The result is a robust DNH7 steel blade designed for traditional target cutting practice, including harder natural targets such as fresh green bamboo. The fittings are deliberately refined and restrained, with hand-cut pure iron components finished in a deep black patina. The lotus tsuba follows an older kyo sukashi, maru gata style, complementing the clean character of the sword. The tsuka and saya are hand-carved to fit the individual blade, with black Japanese silk ito over full same-gawa, hishigami reinforcement, semi-gloss lacquer, and buffalo horn mounts for a high-quality traditional finish.
