Cold Steel Thompson Saber

The Thompson Saber is not a historical or period-specific sword; it is a newly developed, modern saber. Designed by Cold Steel President Lynn C Thompson, and bearing his name, the Thompson Saber was created to his exact specifications. Drawing on decades of study and training in Western, Japanese and Filipino bladed arts, Thompson combined preferred traits from a wide range of sources. The blade is ground to his specifications, with a very sharp first six inches from the point and a gradually thicker edge profile through the remainder of the blade. It is deeply blued to aid rust resistance. It has a modified 1904 Saber guard and a sizeable ray skin wrapped handle designed to accommodate even large modern fencer's gloves. The Thompson Saber comes complete with a heavy-duty thick leather and steel scabbard with a leather belt frog for convenient storage and transport.
