The Kingston Arms Practical Bastard Sword-Light Brown brings back a popular hand-and-a-half design with a cleaner retooled guard and pommel, an antique patina finish and traditional peened construction. Its proportions reflect the versatile bastard sword style, with enough grip length for single- or two-handed handling while retaining an historically inspired medieval profile. Designed for reenactors and HEMA practitioners, this model uses a 38 inch blunt blade with a rounded tip, forged from 5160 high-carbon steel to help minimise burring through regular practice. The guard has increased transverse thickness for strength and a safer rounded profile at the ends, while the light brown leather grip gives the piece its classic presentation. Unlike rigid practical scabbards, this version includes a matching all-leather light brown scabbard intended to be more forgiving as part of reenactment kit.
