The War Horse Katana by Dragon King is a striking Japanese sword that pairs functional construction with a thoughtful artistic theme. Its emerald tsuka over white same contrasts beautifully with the deep blue saya, while the blackened tsuba depicts riderless horses in a circular motif. The fittings continue the historical styling, with silver menuki representing the Tokugawa and Oda clans and fuchi and kashira featuring Takeda and Mori clan symbols. The 28" forged 1566 steel blade is true clay-tempered, producing a real hamon brought out by the traditional polish. With an HRC 60 edge and HRC 40 back, the blade is built with the hardness differential valued in quality Japanese sword making, while the mirror-finished shinogi-ji gives it a refined collector-grade appearance. Measuring 40 1/2" overall and weighing 2 lbs 8 oz, this is a substantial, well-balanced katana suitable for display, collection, and appropriate cutting practice by experienced users.
