Description

The Cold Steel 1796 Light Cavalry Sabre (Wood/Leather Scabbard) is a historically inspired collectible intended for historical display. Based on late-18th-century sabre patterns, its distinctive blade profile is considered by some to have been derived from the Indian Talwar. It features a 1055 carbon steel blade and is made to a standard capable of passing the British Proof Test for quality and durability. The blade is blunted from the handle to approximately halfway along its length and sharpened from approximately halfway to the tip, reflecting surviving examples from the period. This version includes a wood and leather scabbard with steel mounts and fittings.
