This listing is for the Colichemarde Sword (CS88CLMS). The Colichemarde Dagger (CS88CLMD) is sold separately. The Colichemarde emerged in the late 1600s during the transition from the Rapier to the small sword. Its distinctive blade is extra wide at the forte before stepping down to a narrower profile for the remainder of its length. This configuration provides a substantial base while keeping the overall blade comparatively light. Cold Steel president Lynn C. Thompson has long admired the Colichemarde for its historical profile, and Cold Steel worked with Dave Baker to create this modern collectible interpretation. The blade reflects the original design concept, with an extra-long, wide forte that transitions abruptly to a narrow tip. The hilt features a decorative double-shell guard with finger loops and a knuckle bow, while the grip is wire wrapped and finished with a matching pommel. A matching Colichemarde Dagger is also available separately, featuring a rigid, ground and polished blade, double quillons and a wire-wrapped handle. Intended as a collectible piece for historical display.
