CAS Hanwei PSK Plus XL Light Katana

The PSK Plus XL Light Katana brings back a well-regarded CAS Hanwei Performance Series design with updated fittings and the same practical focus that made the line popular with serious martial arts practitioners. Its refreshed tsuba, fuchi, kashira and menuki are produced from new tooling, giving the sword a cleaner presentation while retaining a classic Practical Plus character. The 28 1/2" forged 1566 steel blade uses XL Light geometry with bo-hi on both sides, reducing weight while maintaining the broad cutting profile associated with the Performance Series. Differential hardening gives the edge a stated HRC60 hardness, with the spine at HRC40, balancing edge performance with resilience. The 3/4" sori, 5 1/2" point of balance and 2 lb 9 oz weight combine for responsive handling suited to lighter cutting targets and controlled practice by trained users. CAS Hanwei production continues under experienced Dalian artisans at the Dragon King forge, following the closure of the original Hanwei forge in 2024.
