The Atrim Design Ibeam Longsword Trainer from Kingston Arms is a specialist HEMA training sword developed from Angus Trim’s I-Beam concept. The design addresses a common issue with tapered blunt trainers: thin edges can wear quickly, while overly thick blades can feel sluggish. By using a large central fuller, this trainer retains more material at the edge while keeping the sword lively and responsive in hand. Measuring 45" overall with a 34 7/8" blade, the trainer is made from 9260 spring steel and weighs 2 lbs 12 oz. Its 3.25mm edge thickness and 6" point of balance make it a practical choice for structured HEMA practice, offering a considered balance of durability, handling and historical longsword proportions. A leather-covered scabbard is included for convenient storage and presentation.
