The Bushman has been a mainstay of the Cold Steel range for more than a decade, combining a simple design with durable construction, versatility and an accessible price. The Pocket Bushman complements the original with a more compact, portable format for lawful outdoor and utility use. Its 4.5-inch 4116 stainless-steel blade has a broad, hollow-ground clip-point profile with a gently curved edge. The handle uses the monobloc construction method associated with the French Douk Douk line of knives. A single sheet of stainless steel is folded to form the handle and house the closed blade, eliminating the need for separate liners, handle scales or back spacers. Andrew Demko designed the patent-pending Ram Safe lock to work with this monobloc handle. Its self-adjusting ram moves forwards as the blade is opened and seats between the blade tang shelf and the U-shaped section of the handle. A compression spring supports the mechanism and provides firm lock-up. The construction distributes operational loads through the blade tang, locking mechanism and stainless-steel handle for rigidity during appropriate utility tasks.
