The Original(XL), designed by Kizer, features green Micarta scales, a 3.27-inch 154CM stainless steel blade and the same button-lock mechanism used on the Cormorant. It is distinguished from the Cormorant by its classic profile and straightforward handle shape. Its lower price point makes it an accessible addition to a folding-knife collection. The Vanguard Series offers established Kizer designs in a more accessible range while retaining a focus on material selection and construction quality. Across the series, Kizer uses materials including VG10 blade steel and G10 or stainless-steel handles; this Original(XL) model is specified with 154CM stainless steel and a Micarta handle. The result is a practical folding tool for lawful utility use and collecting.
