KA-BAR EK Model 5

The KA-BAR EK MODEL 5 continues the John Ek Commando Knife Co. product line with a robust, professional-use fixed-blade design. Its 6.875-inch Bowie blade is made from 1095 Cro-Van steel, hardened to 56–58 HRC and finished with a black parkerised coating. A flat grind and 20-degree edge angle provide dependable cutting performance, while the 12-gauge commercial-grade carbon steel guard adds practical hand protection. Textured glass-filled nylon handle scales provide a secure grip and retain the traditional X-head fasteners associated with the Ek design. Measuring 13 inches overall and weighing 0.7 lb, the EK MODEL 5 is supplied with a US-made Celcon® sheath featuring a retaining strap, self-locking function and multiple tie-down points. Both the knife and sheath are manufactured in the United States.
