The Izula is designed as a lightweight outdoor and utility tool. The blade is made from high-carbon 1095 steel. Although 1095 is widely used for professional cutlery and demanding field applications, it may rust or stain if not properly maintained, particularly along the exposed edge and around the laser engraving. Users should keep the blade clean and properly lubricated. ESEE suggests using a dry-film rust inhibitor such as TUF-GLIDE or TUF-CLOTH. The Izula Complete Survival Kit includes paracord, a cord lock, a large split ring, a small split ring, a ferro fire-starting rod, an emergency whistle and a plastic snap hook.
