DMT 8″ Double-Sided DiaSharp Bench Stone Coarse / X-Coarse

Double Sided Dia-Sharp® continuous diamond sharpening bench stone.Two grit options in one stone. Excellent for small and pointed tools, knives and cutters. The Dia-Sharp diamond stones feature DMT’s continuous diamond surface. The diamonds are spread evenly across the entire surface of the steel core, with no gaps. A continuous surface diamond stone is preferred when sharpening small or pointed tools that can get caught in the polka-dots of the interrupted surface of other DMT stones. The continuous surface is also desirable compared to other, softer stone types that can be gouged by small or pointed tips. The Dia-Sharp stones are precision ground to be flat. The thick steel core provides stability while the nickel plating provides durability. Extra-Coarse: (60 micron / 220 mesh) when significant removal of material is needed for damaged edges or for heavy-duty outdoor tools such as axes and Iawn mower blades. This grit is commonly used as the first step in flattening the backs of chisels and plane irons and for rapid stock removal from a chipped or damaged edge. Coarse: (45micron / 325 mesh) quickly restores a dull edge to cutting sharp.
